Forming technology

Flexible processes for optimal results

The basic procedure for the production of your parts is always similar. We receive the strip material for production from our steel and aluminium suppliers. The strip material is fed into the automatic machines via the strip processing line. In the automatic machines, product-specific manufactured tools take over the production via lifting movements. Basically, we use two different production processes. The use of the respective process is determined by various influencing factors, such as order volume or the complexity of the individual forming operations.

Progressive compound system

Low unit costs, high ease of maintenance

The material strip passes through several forming stations within a tool by fixed feed of the carrier strip. At least one forming operation is performed at each forming station. The feed rate remains constant. The last operation is always the separation of the finished part from the carrier strip. With a progressive die you can achieve low unit costs with high ease of maintenance. The following machine modules are involved:

Transfer tool

For large workpieces with complex geometry

In contrast to the progressive compound system, in a transfer tool the part to be produced is not placed with the material strip to the next processing position. Instead, the part is transferred to the next processing step with a gripper system.

This technology tends to be used for parts that cannot be attached to the material strip due to their geometric attributes, weight or size. In practice, these are rather large parts with complex geometries and medium quantities.

Production with transfer systems is somewhat more complex, since in contrast to progressive compound production, a transfer (gripper) system is still used. Efficient manufacturing requires exact coordination of the individual machine components.
